Agency staff are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (EST). We respond to all calls and emails in the order they are received.
Please note that our administrative team experiences a high volume of calls during July and August. For faster assistance, we encourage license holders and applicants to contact us by email for questions about licensure, technical issues, or general inquiries at kbc@ky.gov
License Delivery:
Personal licenses will be mailed to the address you provided through your portal.
Salon, School, and Limited Facility licenses will be sent by email for printing.
Inspection sheets for these facilities will also be emailed and must be printed and posted in accordance with 201 KAR 12:060.
If you have questions about your license status, please log in to your account to check your expiration date. Kindly allow up to 72 business hours for a response to your inquiry.
Important Information:
Your license status does not determine your employment status or ability to use the license.
As of June 15, 2023, licenses will show one of three statuses:
Renewed (Active)
Not Renewed (Inactive)
Licenses marked as expired are no longer eligible for renewal, this status is eligible for the examination through your online portal.
The Board does not offer “retired" or “escrow" status options for license accounts.
To help us serve everyone as efficiently as possible, avoid sending duplicate messages as they are monitored by the same individual. If you have already emailed kbc@ky.gov there is no need to submit an additional request through the contact us form.
